I am interested in the plant-fungal symbiotic interactions and their ecology. I want to address the questions such as how these interactions affect the evolution of virulence, and how symbiotic fungal communities are shaped by biotic/abiotic factors. I completed my B.S. in Agriculture at Hokkaido University in Japan in 2015. My research was on the relationships between strigolactones and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungal community of sorghum. I worked as a research assistant with Dr. Taichi Takasuka at Hokkaido University prior to my Ph.D. I began my Ph.D. work with Dr. Arnold at University of Arizona in 2015.
